Los Angeles, CA (Los Angeles – Long Beach – Anaheim)
Role summary. Design and coordinate building electrical systems for commercial, multi‑family and civic projects in Southern California. Responsibilities include developing power‑distribution, lighting, fire‑alarm and low‑voltage designs using Revit and AutoCAD, performing load calculations and voltage‑drop studies, sizing equipment and conduits, and producing single‑line diagrams and construction documents. The engineer will coordinate with mechanical and plumbing teams, architects and contractors and provide construction‑phase support. Because California enforces stringent energy codes, candidates must demonstrate working knowledge of Title 24 requirements and the California Energy Commission’s energy‑calculation procedures .
Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and California professional engineer (PE) license.
- 5+ years of MEP building‑design experience, including electrical load calculations, panel and distribution layouts and lighting design.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, lighting calculation software and short‑circuit/arc‑flash analysis tools.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC), California Building Code and Title 24 energy‑efficiency standards .
- Ability to collaborate with architects and other disciplines and to mentor junior designers.
