About this job
Job Description
If you love solving complex mechanical problems and shaping maintenance programs that last, Chemours’ New Johnsonville Plant in New Johnsonville, TN is calling. You’ll report to the Asset & Reliability Manager and take ownership of an operating area—partnering daily with operators and mechanical crews to eliminate defects and elevate equipment performance.
Why Chemours? Our chemistry powers clean energy, next-gen electronics, AI and HPC, climate-friendly cooling, and coating technologies that make modern life possible. We pair rigorous science with data and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
What challenges will you tackle?- Could you diagnose a pump failure by lunch and draft a permanent fix by end of day? You’ll provide expert troubleshooting, failure evaluation, and recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
- Do PM plans reflect true reliability and MI needs? You’ll re-think frequencies, scopes, and methods to optimize cost and performance.
- Are our procedures best-in-class? Build subject-matter depth on area equipment, then shape work instructions and drive craft/operator training.
- Will a change improve safety, quality, environment, or cost? You’ll initiate and steward MOC to make it real.
- How do we invest wisely? Prepare RFPs and basic data for reliability upgrades and end-of-life replacements; review inspection data for fitness-for-service and correct intervals.
- What prevents repeat failures? Lead RCFA teams, kaizen events, and structured problem-solving.
- How do we scale? Define and audit scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and equipment specifications; assess vendor proposals for function, timing, and value.
- Where can we learn faster? Network with site reliability engineers and technicians to share practices and accelerate improvement.
