Job Description
Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Reports to: Litigation Paralegal
Job Summary: A Litigation Paralegal supports the Litigation Support Coordinator and works with attorneys, paralegals, and other practice support team members to maximize the usage of litigation support tools and applications. The analyst must have a "hands on" approach to project management and will be responsible for providing technical support in database loading, image management and database design for a suite of litigation/practice system tools, particularly Relativity.
Responsibilities:
- Consults with the Litigation Support Coordinator and case team personnel on technical litigation support issues
- Ensures high quality, timely delivery of work product to internal customers
- Manipulates and formats raw data to customer-specific formats
- Manages, processes, and loads data and images into litigation support systems. Documents, diagnoses, and reports on failed processes
- Analyzes documents and data to identify compatibility with litigation systems. Recommends vendor intervention when necessary
- Utilizes development skills to automate repetitive tasks
- Documents and maintains files on all requests from case teams and Litigation Support Specialists
- Compiles daily billing time records in an accurate and timely manner
- Participates in future business planning
- Establishes strategies and plans to increase efficiency
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to learn and understand the use of technology to support litigation efforts, discovery, document productions, document management, and coding
· High level of attention to detail
· Ability to work under tight and changing deadlines with minimal supervision
· Ability to accommodate changing requirements while maintaining database and application integrity
· Ability to handle multiple priorities, managing time effectively, making decisions and solving problems
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
· HS Diploma and/or associate degree in a related field
· A minimum of one year of related Litigation Support experience, including experience with Relativity required
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times
· Work in the office three days a week
