Shipping Coordinator

Core Responsibilities

• Logistics Coordination: Scheduling carrier pickups, coordinating, and managing daily shipping routes.
• Documentation: Preparing accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading (BOL), packing lists, and compliance/customs forms.
• Monitoring & Tracking: Tracking shipments, maintaining records of delivery dates, and updating customers on shipment status.
• Shipment Preparation: Ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and handling of goods to prevent loss or damage.
• Problem Resolution: Troubleshooting delays, coordinating with carriers to resolve logistical issues, and managing freight claims.

Key Requirements

• Communication: Interacting effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
• Technical Skills: Using inventory systems, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and proficiency in software like Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to Detail: Verifying accuracy in shipping logs, quantities, and documentation.
• Time Management: Operating efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines.

Additional Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Experience of at least 3 years in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and shipping software
• Experience in JD Edwards MRP system would be beneficial
