Gastroenterology Staff Physician 

Harlingen VA Health Care Center Harlingen, Texas 

Aptive Resources is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join a respected federal healthcare system in Texas serving our nations Veterans. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians seeking a balance of procedural work, outpatient care, and meaningful service in a highly structured, supportive clinical environment.

This position offers a predictable schedule, reduced administrative burden, and mission-driven patient careideal for physicians seeking stability without sacrificing clinical impact.

Position Highlights

  • Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 a.m.4:30 p.m.
  • No call, no weekends
  • Patient Volume: 510 patients per day (subject to change)

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care
  • Diagnose and manage GI conditions, with a focus on hepatitis care
  • Develop and implement diagnostic and therapeutic care plans
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care and provide patient/family education
  • Participate in clinical, educational, and research activities, as appropriate

Procedural Experience

  • EGD, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Polypectomy, PEG placement, small bowel and liver biopsy
  • Esophageal dilation, motility studies, band ligation, sclerotherapy
  • Stent placement, laser therapies, and treatment of GI bleeding

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Completion of accredited GI Fellowship
  • Active or eligible Texas medical license
  • DEA certification
