Medical Director – Occupational Medicine
Location: Portland, OR area | Hybrid: Tue–Thu in-office, Mon/Fri remote
Schedule: 30–40 hours/week | Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: $200,000–$300,000 base + additional incentives
About the Role:
Clinical Magnet is seeking an experienced physician to join our partner's organization as Medical Director overseeing our occupational medicine and workers’ compensation team. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing group of physician reviewers, help shape care standards, and make a meaningful impact on employee health—all without the pressures of full-time patient care.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a team of 7–8 part-time physician reviewers, ensuring quality, consistency, and best practices in workers’ compensation claims
- Conduct medical and claims reviews (about 25% of your time)
- Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship for physician reviewers
- Help maintain and improve medical policies and claims protocols
- Collaborate with operations to ensure efficient, high-quality outcomes

Ideal Candidate:
- MD or DO, Board-Certified
- Active OR license (or eligible for licensure)
- Some experience in occupational medicine, workers’ compensation, or independent medical exams
- Experience in leadership or managing other physicians is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
