Job Description:

\n

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients undergoing scans for diagnostic purposes. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will use the scanner to create images of various areas of the patient’s body to indicate the presence of diseases.

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals orally or by injection or inhalation.
\n
• Explaining the imaging procedure to patients, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort while placing them in the appropriate position for scanning.
\n
• Operating imaging equipment, such as SPECT /CT scanners.
\n
• Processing images of the brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver on the computer.
\n
• Keeping detailed records of the amount and type of radiopharmaceutical used and of the procedure.
\n
• Producing computer-generated images for interpretation by the physicians.
\n
• Following safety procedures to protect staff and patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
\n
• Maintaining current knowledge of the frequent advances, innovations, and developments in the field.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• NH license and certification to practice nuclear medicine required.
\n
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
\n
• 1 year experience preferred.
\n
• Excellent technical and computer skills.
\n
• Attention to detail.
\n
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
\n
