Overview
A growing independent insurance agency in New Milford, NJ is seeking a relationship-driven Personal Lines Producer or Account Manager to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated insurance professional who enjoys both new business development and client relationship management. The agency provides qualified inbound leads, allowing you to focus on closing business and deepening client relationships while still leveraging your personal network for additional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop personal lines opportunities with new and existing clients via phone, virtual meetings, written communication, and in person
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive follow-up, timely and accurate quotations, and responsive service
- Actively round accounts and recommend coverage enhancements to increase account penetration and retention
- Leverage agency-provided qualified leads along with personal networking and referrals to grow the book of business
- Secure optimal coverage and pricing by marketing accounts, processing quotes, and binding coverage
- Present policies and educate clients on coverage options, exposures, and pricing
- Support renewal strategy and retention efforts through proactive client engagement
- Anticipate and respond to client service needs in a timely and professional manner
- Track and report sales activity and key performance metrics to achieve production goals
- Collaborate with internal team members and provide mentorship or technical guidance when appropriate
- Maintain continuing education requirements and stay current on carrier products, market trends, and industry changes
Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty license required (NJ preferred)
- 2+ years of personal lines and/or commercial lines insurance experience in a sales or account management role
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
- Demonstrated success in insurance sales with strong closing ability
- Solid understanding of personal lines coverages, underwriting, and rating
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with strong time management and ability to work independently
- Proficiency with agency management systems and standard business technology
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $55,000–$65,000 (commensurate with experience)
