Set Up Technician

SUMMARY: The Set-Up Technician changes tools in the injection-molding machines and preps the work area for the following job.

RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY:

Ø  Set up the mold in injection-molding machines as per the set-up procedure.

Ø  Pull out the mold at the completion of work order.

Ø  Prepare the mold for storage at the assigned place.

Ø  Clean the machine and surrounding area after the mold has been set-up.

Ø  Set-up the auxiliary equipment needed for running that mold.

Ø  Change the interchangeable inserts as required.

Ø  Any other work assigned by the supervisor related to the molds.

Ø  Keep a log of all time spent on each job assigned (Production form 5.0.33).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Ø  Forklift Certification required.

Ø  High School education desirable.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:  

Ø  Must be punctual and dependable.

Ø  Must have at least 3 years of experience as set-up person or 5 years as assistant set-up person.

Ø  Must have good working knowledge of English.

Ø  Must be able to read and understand work instructions.

Ø  Must be able to understand the mechanical drawings.

Ø  Must have his/her basic tools needed for set-up.

Ø  Must be trained in forklift safety and inspection procedures.

Physical Requirements:

Ø  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. 

Ø  Must be able to stand for a long period of time.

Ø  Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, walking required.
