Overview
This position will be part of a Tennessee State Parks Operations maintenance series for TDEC. This
is the second classification in the TSP Maintenance Series. This classification is responsible for
performing and assisting with grounds maintenance, janitorial tasks, facility maintenance and
repair, equipment operation, and fire suppression and prevention. This class differs from that of
TSP MAINTENANCE WORKER in that the latter performs less complex repair functions. This class
differs from that of TSP MAINTENANCE LEAD In that the latter performs more complex repair functions
and trains and leads staff.
Responsibilities
Operate a variety of landscaping and maintenance equipment,
such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, and trimmers, to perform
general grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming,
and debris removal.
Assist with building maintenance, including basic repairs to
heating, refrigeration, and facility systems.
- Support seasonal maintenance activities as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Operate a wide range of tools and equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Perform routine janitorial duties to maintain clean and safe
facilities.
Collect and remove trash from facility grounds and
surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
Collaborate with team members by sharing technical knowledge
and supporting group project completion.
