Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an enriching school-based speech-language pathology opportunity this fall! A well-regarded district near Newark, NJ is seeking three full-time SLPs for maternity leave coverage, starting in September 2026 and continuing for 12 weeks. These contract roles offer over 35 hours per week across elementary school settings, with a focus on supporting students in preschool through 5th grade, especially those within high Autism populations.

Your clinical expertise will be highly valued as you collaborate with teachers and families to create supportive, student-centered therapy programs. Each assignment is onsite at a welcoming school community. While Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply, outside supervision arrangements are needed as supervision is not available through the district; CCC-holders are highly prioritized for these positions. SLPAs are not eligible for these roles.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • NJ SLP License and valid NJ SLS Certification (required for all applicants)
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC preferred)
  • Experience or openness to working with preschool and elementary populations, particularly students with Autism
  • Engage effectively with diverse teams, staff, and families
  • Skilled in IEP planning and progress documentation
  • Commitment to onsite presence throughout the assignment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech-language therapy tailored to individual education plans
  • Conduct evaluations, assessments, and write reports as mandated
  • Collaborate with educators and special services teams for holistic support
  • Attend meetings related to students’ educational progress
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to all state and federal education requirements

Take your skills to the next level in a supportive, school-centered environment this fall! If you bring dedication, credentials, and passion for helping young learners achieve their communication potential, apply now to be considered for this rewarding contract assignment.

Compensation for this position ranges from $42.13 to $72.13. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
