CNC Machinist - Setup & Programming

Pay: Based on Experience
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift

Position Overview

Local manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with setup and programming experience to join their team. This is not an operator-only role - the ideal candidate will have a strong machining background and be comfortable setting up machines, editing programs, troubleshooting issues, and working independently in a precision-focused environment.

The company is willing to further train the right candidate, but a solid foundation in machining is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machine setups for production runs
• Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments when necessary
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Work independently while maintaining quality and production standards

Qualifications

• Strong CNC machining background required
• Setup experience required
• Basic programming experience preferred
• Experience with Fusion 360 or Mastercam is highly beneficial
• Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

• CNC mills and/or lathes
• Program editing and troubleshooting
• Precision measurement tools including calipers and micrometers
• Prototype or small-run machining experience
