Schedule:

  • Rotating shifts: 7:00 am–3:00 pm / 11:00 am–7:30 pm
  • 13-week assignment
  • On-call required (30-minute response time)

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current and unrestricted NYS RN license
  • Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience required
  • Operating Room experience preferred; candidates without recent OR experience must complete the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program within 6 months and pass the final exam
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum of one year medical/surgical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of lethal dysrhythmia interpretation and clinical instrumentation in the OR/ASU setting strongly desired
  • Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
  • Ability to recognize and address safety issues, including safe patient transfer
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality peri-operative patient care by assessing, planning, and coordinating within a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Recognize and address urgent clinical needs in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks with effective leadership, stepping into charge nurse duties as needed
  • Maintain a safe, aseptic environment and comply with clinical equipment protocols
  • Provide patient and family education
