Controller

CV Resources is seeking a seasoned, hands-on Controller to join our team in a site-level leadership role based in Louisville, KY. This individual must be able to hit the ground running, bringing strong construction accounting expertise and a proactive mindset. This role will support multiple out-of-state locations and evolve into a regional leadership position, partnering closely with operational and project teams across sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all site-level accounting and financial operations
• Lead and manage construction WIP (Work-in-Progress) accounting processes
• Partner directly with Project Managers to gather, analyze, and validate project financial data
• Ensure accuracy in job costing, revenue recognition, and forecasting
• Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and reporting standards
• Supervise and mentor a team of up to 5 employees across multiple offices
• Assist in scaling processes and strengthening financial infrastructure

Regional Responsibilities

• Travel expectations:
  • Early phase: approximately out-of-state and bi-weekly travel to build relationships and understand operations
  • Long-term: transition to monthly travel

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including Controller-level responsibilities
• Strong background in construction accounting
• Proven experience with WIP accounting and job costing
• Experience collaborating with operational/project teams
• Proficiency with Sage 300 or Acumatica
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple locations
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation (preferred but not required)
• Experience in multi-site or regional roles
• Prior experience building or improving accounting processes
