We are seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, effective, and patient- and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care through comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient plans, in alignment with evidence-based practice and organizational standards.
The PCU RN collaborates closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes, effective communication, and continuity of care. This role emphasizes ongoing reassessment, clinical decision-making, and timely response to changes in patient condition, as well as accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes.
In addition to direct patient care, the RN plays a key leadership role within the unit by supervising and delegating to licensed and unlicensed personnel, supporting staff development, and serving as a mentor or preceptor. The RN actively contributes to quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of teamwork and professional accountability.
This role applies the principles of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, prioritizing patient comfort, education, and satisfaction throughout the care continuum, including discharge planning and transition of care.
