We are seeking a board-certified MD or DO to serve as Chief Medical Officer at a 47-bed skilled nursing facility in beautiful Northwest Montana. This is a high-impact 1099 Locum Tenens contract position providing essential medical leadership and care to a stable resident population (average census ~30).

This role offers significant schedule flexibility once established, including a hybrid remote/on-site option. We are looking for a committed physician for a minimum 6-month contract (ideally 6–12 months) to ensure continuity of care for this deserving community.

Position Highlights

  • Compensation: $200.00 per hour regular rate | $250.00 per hour callback rate
  • Total Earnings Potential$190,000+ in just 6 months
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Weekday call only (no weekend call required)
    • Hybrid remote + on-site flexibility available once established
  • Contract Length: Minimum 6 months, up to 1 year (ASAP start)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical direction and oversight for a 47-bed skilled nursing facility
  • Perform new admission History & Physicals
  • Complete 60- and 90-day resident assessments
  • Conduct medication reviews
  • Manage acute conditions (e.g., UTIs, falls, infections)
  • Perform daily rounding
  • Handle weekday call for urgent resident issues

Requirements

  • Active Montana medical license (MD or DO)
  • Board Certification in a primary care specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics preferred)
  • Active BLS certification
  • Active DEA registration
  • Strong background in primary care and urgent care
  • Experience in long-term care / skilled nursing is highly preferred
