Job Title: Advanced Automotive Technician (Tech 2)

Location: Multiple Locations

Pay rate: $36 / hour on 1099


Job Summary

The Advanced Automotive Technician is responsible for vehicle inspection, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. This role involves working with mechanical and electrical systems, performing computer-based diagnostics, and communicating repair needs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including computer-based diagnostics
  • Repair or replace defective components
  • Interpret electrical schematics and perform testing as needed
  • Utilize diagnostic and shop equipment effectively
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Communicate technical issues and repair recommendations clearly to customers and team members
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent training
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and CAN communication
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
  • Must provide own professional automotive tools


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OEM or luxury vehicles
  • Automotive technician certification (ASE or equivalent)
  • Experience with electric vehicles (EV)
  • Familiarity with ADAS systems (diagnosis, repair, calibration)
  • Experience with fabrication, wiring, or harness building
  • EPA 609 Certification or OEM Master Technician Certification
  • Previous senior or lead technician experience
