Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 36 or 48 hours per week based on traveler preference; every other weekend required; no floating

Highlights:\n

\n
• Labor & Delivery with OB Triage experience highly preferred
\n
• Patient population includes labor patients, antepartum patients (27+ weeks gestation), PIH patients requiring Magnesium therapy, and preterm labor patients
\n
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
\n
• Electronic documentation using EPIC and GE Centricity systems
\n
• 24-hour orientation provided; pre-start modules required
\n
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 1 year experience
\n

Requirements:\n

\n
• Active Alabama RN license required at time of submission
\n
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
\n
• Previous charge experience required
\n
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP
\n
• Experience with patient ratio of 2:1 required
\n
• EPIC charting experience preferred
\n
• Community hospital experience preferred
\n
• Permanent address must be at least 90 miles from facility location
\n
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
\n
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
\n

Clinical Skills & Competencies:\n

\n
• Non-stress testing (NST), continuous fetal monitoring, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
\n
• Fetal scalp electrode and IUPC placement and calibration
\n
• IV starts and maintenance, administration of blood products, and infusion pump management
\n
• Amnioinfusion procedures
\n
• Assist anesthesia during epidural placement
\n
• Attend cesarean sections (non-scrub role) and recover post-cesarean patients
\n
• High-risk obstetric conditions including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, and postpartum hemorrhage
\n
• Magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, and management of pregnancy-induced hypertension
\n
• Neonatal resuscitation and infant arrest response
\n
• Support for vaginal delivery, VBAC management, forceps/vacuum extraction, and multiple births
\n
• Breastfeeding support and lactation assistance
\n
