American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level 3 Trauma, Stroke Center of Excellence facility in North Carolina, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and the ability to float within a multi-facility region.

- 40-bed ICU within a 457-bed hospital designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, Bariatric Center of Excellence, and Chest Pain Center \n
- Patient population includes ventilated patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, opti-flow, BiPAP, overdose, CRRT, GI bleeds, and trauma cases \n
- RN-to-patient ratio of 1:1–3 \n
- 12-hour day shifts (0700–1900), 36 hours per week \n
- Every other weekend rotation required \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Floating required within Region 1, which includes Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division facilities (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH — pediatrics only); candidates must be willing to float to any facility within the region as needed \n
- EMR: Epic \n
- IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Philips \n
- Unit-specific equipment includes Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont Rapid Transfuser, and LifeFlow \n
- Hardwire monitors and travel telemetry boxes in use \n
- \n
- Active NC or compact RN license required \n
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year \n
- Proficiency in critical care skills including vasoactive and sedation drip management, insulin protocols (Endotool), invasive line management (arterial lines, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube care, ventilator management, blood product administration, and wound care \n
- Epic EMR experience \n
- Must provide last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth for consideration \n
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN \n
- \n
- CNAs provide support with turning, feeding, ADLs, blood glucose monitoring, lab draws, and mobility \n
- Charge nurse coverage available 24/7; Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, and Intensivist support available around the clock \n
- IV/VAT team available; RNs are primarily responsible for phlebotomy with limited hospital-wide phlebotomy support \n
- Orientation includes facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation \n
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays \n
- Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays \n
- Navy scrubs required \n
- Free designated parking available on-site \n
- Candidate's permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted \n
- Must have been separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following permanent employment before being eligible \n
