Job Description
Summary
We are representing a well-established commercial builder seeking a Traveling Assistant Superintendent to support projects across the Carolinas. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2+ years of experience working for a general contractor who is ready to grow their field leadership career while gaining exposure to a wide variety of ground-up and commercial construction projects.
This role will require regional travel within the company’s active project footprint. Lodging, per diem, and mileage reimbursement are provided for out-of-town assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Superintendent with daily onsite project coordination
Help manage subcontractors, jobsite logistics, and project sequencing
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized jobsite
Support project documentation including daily reports, RFIs, and punch lists
Participate in subcontractor meetings and help enforce safety protocols
Monitor progress against schedule and assist with look-ahead planning
Communicate clearly with field crews, vendors, and the project team
Learn and grow into a future Superintendent role through hands-on mentorship
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Project Engineer in commercial construction
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout North Carolina and South Carolina
Understanding of jobsite operations and construction sequencing
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proactive attitude and desire to take initiative in the field
Experience with Procore or similar construction software is a plus
OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification preferred
