Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Memorial Hospital
Schedule: 20 hours a week. Flexible days and hours to meet the needs of the out-patient and n-patients
Location: 100% On-site at Hospital or TSRC Clinic in Chester, IL
Vaccination Requirements: In compliance with IDPH, CDC, and CMS guidelines
Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation and intervention services for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP works collaboratively to design and implement goal-directed treatment plans aimed at maximizing functional outcomes and improving patient quality of life. This role supports patients across all care settings and contributes to coordinated, high-quality rehabilitation services.
Qualifications:
Master of Arts or Science in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
Completion of a 9-month full-time Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
Current CPR certification
Excellent health, professional appearance, and demeanor
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrates initiative, responsibility, and integrity
Passion for working with geriatric and rehabilitation populations
Valid Driver's Licence.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing impairments
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
Educate and counsel patients and family members regarding therapy goals and strategies
Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge summaries accurately and timely
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and assist in discharge preparation
Provide referrals to appropriate community resources and support programs
Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a constant state of alertness
Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and department goals
