Reports To: Regional Operations Director
Position Summary
The RSS (Residential Support Services) Shift Coordinator is responsible for overseeing shift operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and providing leadership to RSS staff. This role requires strong communication skills, crisis management abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a supportive residential environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and support RSS staff during assigned shifts.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and structured environment for residents.
- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
- Coordinate shift activities, including staff assignments and resident engagement.
- Conduct shift change briefings and ensure proper documentation of incidents and updates.
- Communicate resident concerns and incidents to appropriate staff and leadership.
- Ensure residents adhere to program expectations and schedules.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including shift logs and incident reports.
- Provide guidance and training to RSS staff to enhance service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in a human services field preferred.
- Previous experience in a residential, behavioral health, or social services setting preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and composure.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Drivers License required.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and residential treatment best practices.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other relevant training.
