Position Summary
The Painter prepares Pella window and door products for finishing using stain or paint. This includes disassembly, surface preparation, finishing, and reassembly. Attention to detail is critical, as customers expect a high-quality finish.
The Pre-Finish Department plays a key role in delivering on the Pella Promise by ensuring quality, consistency, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
- Unpack products while preserving original packaging materials for reuse
- Ensure labels remain intact for tracking and installation accuracy
- Disassemble window and door products without damage
- Organize and track fasteners and components for proper reassembly
- Stain products to match approved customer color specifications
- Apply sealer, primer, lacquer, or paint using a spray booth
- Sand, clean, and mask products with a high level of detail
- Reassemble and package finished products with care and professionalism
- Stage completed materials to prevent damage and align with warehouse systems
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safety-focused work environment
- Complete additional tasks such as cleaning and stocking as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Qualifications
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper techniques
- Ability to stand for the majority of the shift
- Experience using basic tools such as cordless drills and sanding equipment
- Knowledge of construction or window and door applications preferred
