Front Desk Agent – Guest Service Representative
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and reliable Front Desk Agent to join our hospitality team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people, excels at multitasking, and takes pride in providing top-tier customer service.
Schedule & Availability
Shifts: Primarily afternoon/evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and morning (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Position Type: Part-Time (Full-Time may be available based on performance and need)
Requirement: Open availability, including weekends and holidays, is highly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
Guest Relations: Enthusiastically welcome guests, process check-ins/outs, and handle room assignments and keys.
Reservations & Payments: Accurately manage reservations via phone and walk-ins; process payments, credits, and adjustments securely.
Communication: Act as the "hub" of the hotel by answering multi-line phone calls and coordinating with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to meet guest needs.
Sales & Revenue: Actively sell available room inventory and promote hotel amenities using approved rates and brand guidelines.
Concierge Services: Provide guests with helpful information regarding local attractions, dining recommendations, and directions.
Property Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby, front desk, and coffee station; ensure the gift shop is stocked and organized.
Problem Solving: Address guest concerns or requests promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
Documentation: Complete daily shift checklists and maintain accurate records of guest requests or maintenance issues.
Expectations for Success
The "Face of the Hotel": Maintain a professional appearance and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
Reliability: Punctuality and dependable attendance are non-negotiable.
Multitasking: Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods (e.g., heavy check-in hours).
Discretion: Maintain strict guest privacy and security at all times.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: Previous customer service experience required; hotel front desk experience is a plus.
Technical Skills: Comfortable using computer systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS) and basic office software.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
Ability to lift or move items up to 20 lbs (such as guest luggage or market inventory).
