Join our travel team as a Speech Language Pathologist in Hilo, HI, and apply your expertise in inpatient rehabilitation and acute care settings. You will evaluate and treat communication and swallowing disorders, perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies independently in radiology, and support patients across the continuum of care including potential outpatient referrals. Candidates will document using Meditech for inpatient care and paper documentation for outpatient encounters. Please note that any applicant not currently possessing an active Hawaii license must apply for one upon acceptance of an offer and must have the Hawaii license by the start of the assignment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
- Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Active Hawaii state license in Speech-Language Pathology required by assignment start.
- BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience. Prefer experience in SNF-level care or rehabilitation hospital settings.
- Ability to independently and proficiently complete Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies in radiology without supervision by a radiologist.
- Experience with Meditech electronic documentation for inpatient care and paper documentation for outpatient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior acute care and inpatient rehabilitation experience.
- Experience performing MBS studies in both radiology and rehab settings.
- Experience with outpatient referrals and continuity of care across settings.
Assignment Details
- Generally set schedule five days per week but likely to include one weekend day.
