Position Details:
Type: Family Physician Assistant.
Setting: Inpatient behavioral health facility.
Availability: Full-time or part-time positions are open.
Perform thorough medical evaluations, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of patient admission, as well as follow-ups and discharge planning.
Work in conjunction with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to develop integrated treatment plans that address both medical and mental health needs.
Co-manage patients with complex medical conditions alongside mental health professionals.
Provide education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes to improve overall health.
Offer medical consultations and suggest diagnostic tests and treatments as necessary.
Deliver emergency care within your scope of licensure until specialized assistance is available.
Requirements:
Licensure: Must possess an active Alaska Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant license, or the ability to obtain one before starting.
Education: Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Certification: Board certification from AANPCB, ANCC, or NCCPA.
Experience:
Previous clinical experience in an inpatient or acute care environment is preferred; experience in behavioral health is a plus.
New graduates with relevant clinical training and a strong interest in behavioral health are encouraged to apply.
