Potential Opportunity: Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine)

Location: Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center Augusta, GA

Position Type: Full-Time Contract

Shift: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (No Weekends/Federal Holidays)

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physicians to provide comprehensive primary care services to our nations veterans at theCharlie Norwood VA Medical Center. As a key member of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), you will deliver high-quality, veteran-centric care, focusing on chronic disease management, health promotion, and integrated geriatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Manage a panel of veteran patients, addressing chronic conditions (Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD) and acute clinical needs.
• Care Coordination: Act as the team leader for the PACT model, collaborating with social workers, pharmacists, and mental health professionals.
• Geriatric Integration: Address aging-related issues including cognitive decline, fall prevention, and polypharmacy management.
• Virtual Care: Conduct telehealth visits and use secure messaging to maintain patient access.
• Compliance: Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the VAs Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Candidate Qualifications

• Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Residency: Completion of an ACGMEor AOA-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (ABIM/AOBIM).
• Licensure: Full, current, and unrestricted license in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
• Life Support: Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association).
