What You’ll DoAs a key member of our Project Safe Point team, you will:
Accept participant referrals from Albany County Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility
Make initial contact with eligible participants on site, as well as in the community with program participants
Deliver outreach and engagement services in accordance with the service plan
Work with Syringe Service Program staff to facilitate access to Harm Reduction supplies as needed
Conduct prevention related harm reduction/risk reduction interventions with participants
Register for and attend community trainings/workshops to assist with professional development
HS Diploma or GED
Must have a personal cell phone, valid driver’s license, proof of current car insurance and registration and access to a working, reliable vehicle.
Knowledge of Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, HIV, and Hepatitis C.
Comfort and experience working with current or former substance users
Harm Reduction Outreach Specialist pay: $21.54
Harm Reduction Outreach Specialist schedule: 37.5 hours a week, Monday–Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM
