Travel RN Med Surg | Clayton, New York

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a vital nursing role delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical-surgical setting. You’ll be providing essential services within a professional healthcare environment, working 12-hour overnight shifts (7p–7a) with a commitment to weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage as needed. This contract spans 13 weeks and requires confidence working across both Med/Surg and PCU units.

Key Qualifications:

• Active, current NY RN license
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Minimum of one successful traveler RN assignment; first-time travelers not eligible
• Previous hospital-based RN experience strongly preferred
• Competency in Med/Surg, PCU, and coronary care required
• BLS (required or able to obtain within 3 months of hire)
• Proficient knowledge of nursing principles and ability to assess and address multifaceted patient needs (clinical, educational, mental, spiritual)
• Recognition of safety risks and proper use of lifts/devices for patient transfers
• Strong leadership with ability to prioritize, delegate, and possibly fulfill charge nurse responsibilities
• Skilled at creative problem-solving and functioning well under pressure
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care while floating between Med/Surg and PCU per unit needs
• Actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Respond effectively to urgent patient situations
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all safety protocols
• Provide patient and family education as appropriate
• Lead by example with professionalism and compassion on every shift
