The Quality Technician performs in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet all drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role measures components, conducts visual inspections, maintains accurate records, and supports internal auditing and corrective actions. The position relies on strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a solid understanding of quality assurance practices to help maintain and improve overall product quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections on components and assemblies to verify conformance with drawings, notes, and applicable standards.
- Measure components in accordance with engineering drawings, using appropriate measuring tools and techniques.
- Conduct visual inspections and dimensional measurements without building or cutting parts, ensuring product integrity.
- Review, maintain, and organize quality records and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with IPC-620 standards, applying training provided by the company.
- Provide internal auditing and inspection support to maintain and improve the quality management system.
- Collaboratively resolve quality issues by working with cross-functional team members and sharing relevant information.
- Generate clear, concise reports on quality findings and follow up to ensure that corrective actions are completed and closed.
- Enter data into corrective and preventive action systems and non-conforming materials systems with high accuracy.
- Assist with developing and improving quality processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Support efforts to ensure tools and equipment remain within calibration standards and report any issues promptly.
- Apply knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the quality assurance field to daily tasks.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while meeting quality and production timelines.
- Exercise a degree of creativity and latitude in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide information and appropriately share knowledge with others to help achieve team and organizational goals.
- Administer or assist with training courses as needed to support quality awareness and standards compliance.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and feeler gauges.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics, for entering and reviewing quality-related data.
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and Excel for data entry, documentation, and tracking serial numbers and quantities.
- Solid understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the quality assurance field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing inspections and maintaining records.
- Ability to use sound judgment and experience to plan work and accomplish goals in a quality-focused environment.
- Effective communication skills to share information clearly and collaborate on resolving quality issues.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is preferred; training can be provided.
- Familiarity with IPC-620 standards is preferred; training will be provided if needed.
- Prior experience working with an ERP system, such as Dynamics, is preferred.
- Experience in a quality technician, quality inspector, or similar role in a manufacturing or assembly environment is beneficial.
- Ability to support or deliver training related to quality processes and standards is an asset.
- Comfort working in a small, collaborative team environment with engineers and technicians.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled, very clean facility designed to support detailed inspection and measurement work. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break, providing a consistent daytime schedule. The quality team is small and collaborative, consisting of two other technicians and two quality engineers, allowing for close teamwork and direct communication. Work involves regular use of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and feeler gauges, as well as computers with Microsoft Office, Excel, and an ERP system (Dynamics) for data entry and documentation. The environment emphasizes organization, accuracy, and adherence to calibration and quality standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
