W. W. Hastings Hospital provides comprehensive care for women and newborns, with approximately 850–900 deliveries annually (about 75 births per month).

Unit Capacity:

• 5 Labor & Delivery beds
\n
• 10 Postpartum beds
\n
• General recovery care for women and newborns
\n

\n
• Assess patients' clinical conditions, recognize changes in status, prioritize care, and take appropriate action in urgent or emergent situations.
\n
• Provide nursing care to patients across the lifespan, including neonatal, obstetrical, medical, surgical, and psychiatric patients.
\n
• Develop individualized nursing diagnoses and plans of care based on patient and family needs.
\n
• Conduct patient and family interviews, review medical records, and coordinate appropriate care and discharge planning.
\n
• Initiate emergency interventions, including resuscitative measures when necessary.
\n
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment, including infusion pumps, pulse oximeters, ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other emergency equipment.
\n
• Administer medications, IV therapy, respiratory treatments, and other prescribed therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Provide patient and family education related to preventive, curative, and rehabilitative care.
\n
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, treatments, patient responses, and interdisciplinary care.
\n
• Evaluate patient progress and update plans of care based on clinical outcomes and response to treatment.
\n
• Coordinate care assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies.
\n
• Provide oversight, delegation, and clinical direction to LPNs and unlicensed personnel.
\n
• Provide technical guidance and support to nursing staff.
\n
• Maintain adequate supplies, equipment, and a safe patient-care environment.
\n
• Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, ethical practice, and effective communication.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, administration, and other healthcare professionals.
\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
\n
• Current Oklahoma or Compact RN License required.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
