American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU/CCU night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

- Work in the ICU/CCU unit of a hospital setting \n
- Care for critically ill patients requiring pressors, sedation, thrombolytic therapy, electrolyte replacement, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator/BiPAP support \n
- Perform bedside procedures such as chest tube placement, intubation, line placement, cardioversions, lumbar punctures, and thoracentesis, which may require conscious sedation \n
- Patient ratio of 1:2 \n
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) \n
- Every 3rd weekend required, with potential for every other weekend \n
- Holiday rotation required, generally 3 of 6 major holidays \n
- No on-call requirement \n
- Floating required to Med Surg or affiliate hospitals as needed based on volume/census \n
- Uses Meditech charting system \n
- \n
- Active RN license (IN or compact) required \n
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (PALS preferred) \n
- SANE certification required in hand at time of consideration \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU nursing experience required \n
- Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and high flow nasal cannula \n
- Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management \n
- Experience managing patients with CVA/acute stroke, renal failure, and multisystem organ dysfunction \n
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips \n
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions \n
- \n
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU and progressive care patients including pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention care \n
- May float within scope to Center of Hope (20 minutes from main ER) or to Med Surg as needed \n
- Scrubs of any professional color are acceptable \n
- No parking costs at this facility \n
- Maximum RTO of 7 days; travelers requesting time off during holidays must be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 major holidays \n
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Local candidates are accepted; those living within 50 miles of the hospital are considered local \n
- Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler \n
- Preferred completion of up to 8 hours of orientation modules within 1 week of signing \n
