West Plains Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment & Agricultural Technician to join our service team in Hettinger, North Dakota. What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and reconditioning on agricultural and heavy equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Complete accurate and timely service work orders and documentation
• Use diagnostic tools, electronic parts catalogs, and technical resources
• Identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently and effectively
• Support and collaborate with other technicians and departments
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Deliver high-quality workmanship and customer service

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in agricultural, diesel, or heavy equipment repair (preferred 3+ years)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues independently
• Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
• Experience with Case IH or similar equipment is a plus

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without assistance
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in shop and field environments for extended periods
• Comfortable working around machinery, fluids, and varying environmental conditions
• Safety-minded and compliant with workplace safety policies
• Must maintain insurable driving status
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
