Bayview Navigation Center - Janitor

Position Overview:

This position performs a variety of routine manual tasks, i.e., cleaning floors, hallways, furniture, and equipment in the facility and performing related duties as required. Supervision is received from the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Gather all wastepaper and place for disposal
• Sweep and mop all floor surfaces; vacuum all carpeted areas
• Dust desk, chairs, tables, and other office furniture
• Wet mop restroom floors
• Sanitize toilets, toilet seats, and urinals
• Clean entrance ways and lobby
• Sweep sidewalk around the facility
• Check doors and gate upon completion of work and secure facility
• Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned
• Sanitize all door handles, doorknobs door push bars
• Wash trash bins daily
• Refill sanitizer/hand soap dispensers, and disinfectant spray bottles daily
• Refill all paper dispenser products on each shift.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in performing the duties of a Janitor or other occupation in which the principal duties include routine manual cleaning tasks.
• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and materials, cleaning tools; uses and upkeep of cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability and skill to bend, stoop, reach, stretch, push, lift and carry;
• Work from ladders or scaffolds from ground level or at interior heights;
• Follow oral and written instructions; and to get along well with others.
• Prefer qualifying certificates or training in the areas of maintenance or janitorial.
• Available for Shifts: 11pm -7am or 3pm to 11pm including Holidays and weekends

Additional Requirements:

• Valid California’s Driver’s License (if duties require).
• Able to meet required state, federal, local and BVHP standards.
• Live Scan fingerprinting and TB clearance as well as any other medical vaccinations may be required.
• At least two COVID-19 vaccinations (preferred).
