Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of cath lab scrub experience and ARRT/ACLS/BLS certifications.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab, including an electrophysiology (EP) lab
- 1:1 patient ratio
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Call required 9 days per month
- Uses fluoroscopy and Siemens equipment
- Utilizes PACS for imaging
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Cath Lab experience with scrubbing required
- ACLS, ARRT-CI, ARRT-R, and BLS certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Proficiency in cardiac stent placement, PCI, PTCA, and permanent pacemaker insertion
- Experience with left and right heart catheterization and hemodynamic monitoring
- Skilled in IABP and Impella insertion/removal
- Ability to recognize and interpret life-threatening arrhythmias/dysrhythmias
- Experience maintaining sterile technique and isolation precautions/PPE
- Epic charting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, EKG lead placement, access site prep, and room circulating duties
- Performs scrub procedures including maintaining a sterile field
- May assist with neurological studies/procedures such as carotid angiography, embolization, and stent placement
- Maintains equipment and inventory and stocks supplies as needed
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- RTO requests are limited to no more than 3 auto-approved days, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
