Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week day-shift assignment at a Trauma I and Stroke Center, requiring at least 1 year of IR experience.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology department at a Trauma I and Stroke Center
  • 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • 2 biplane rooms, 2 single plane rooms, and a dedicated ultrasound room
  • CT procedure room is staffed separately by CT techs
  • Department staffed by 5 Body IR physicians and 3 Neurointerventional physicians, with 9 IR techs when fully staffed
  • Supports Neuro and Body Interventional Radiology procedures using single and biplane radiography units
  • Performs procedures including Y90, TIPS, chemoembolization, UFE, PAE, trauma and stroke cases, carotid stenting, drains, biopsies, LPs, kyphoplasty, line and port placement, filter placement, peripheral stenting, AV fistula declot/stenting, and PE/DVT treatment
  • Treats outpatient and inpatient adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients across all acuity levels
  • Uses Siemens fluoroscopy and Philips ultrasound equipment
  • Charting is done in Cerner Powerchart, with McKesson PACS for imaging
  • Call requirements include 1 weekend per month and 1-2 weekdays per week
  • Two techs are on call each shift, a primary and a secondary

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology required
  • ARRT-R and BLS certification required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Skilled in procedures including angioplasty, chest tube placement, embolization, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, paracentesis, and stent placement
  • Experience with vascular studies including carotid stenting, dialysis graft interventions, endovascular interventions, TIPS, and upper/lower extremity angiography
  • Experience with neurological procedures including carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and vertebroplasty
  • Experience with genitourinary procedures including catheter/drain exchange, nephrostomy, percutaneous stone extraction, and ureteral/renal artery stent placement
  • Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
  • Must be comfortable working with adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients across all acuity levels

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather may be required
  • Must be able to work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
  • Maximum RTO of 10 days
  • Mandatory floating may apply, including as a Patient Observer/Sitter role as needed
  • Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses should be expected
  • Facility operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Local candidates residing over 50 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced rate
