Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with ARRT certification and Level 1 trauma experience preferred for a 14-week cardiac catheterization lab assignment.
Details
- position in the Cath Lab / EP Technologist department
- Adult patient population undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
- Procedures include diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, TAVR, Watchman, ASD closures, Impella insertion, ECMO, and hemodynamic monitoring
- EP procedures include pacemaker insertion, AICD insertion/programming, and LAA closure
- Uses Philips single and bi-plane angiography equipment (preferred)
- Epic and McKesson charting systems required
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call requirements include 1 late call per week (5:30p-7:30p), 1 call shift per week (5:30p-7:00a), and 1-2 call weekends per 6-week schedule (Friday 5:30p through Monday 7:00a)
- Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Cath Lab/EP specialty required
- ARRT-R certification required; Rad Tech license required in KY or compact license, pending license accepted at submission but required before start
- License required if applicable
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required at submission; PALS required prior to start date
- EKG onboarding exam required
- Epic EHR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, room circulating, and accurate hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with vascular studies, angioplasty, and rhythm interpretation preferred
- At least 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, EP studies, and vascular access procedures
- Maintains sterile field and monitors patients during procedures
- Interprets dysrhythmias and rhythm strips
- Participates in call rotation for late, weekday, and weekend coverage
- RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration; requests made afterward will not be approved
- Local candidates residing within 75 miles are not accepted for this specialty
- Returning staff must have been separated from all UK-affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- Facility does not accept candidates with any licensure hits
