Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-precision, AS9100 Certified manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience in an AS-registered machining operation and be familiar with the development of, and adherence to, standard operating procedures and workflows.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Manage daily quality activities, including in-process inspection, supplier quality issues, final product approval/certification, and customer quality concerns.
Team Management: Ensure all team members follow established procedures and complete quality assurance work within the allotted time and budget.
Strategic Communication: Communicate daily with production and quality teams across multiple facilities; address top priorities for management and customers.
Problem Resolution: Resolve production machining quality issues in a timely manner.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure products meet international quality standards (ISO9001 and AS9100).
Systems Management: Oversee document revision control, corrective actions (internal and external), and continual improvement efforts.
Performance Tracking: Monitor quality and production metrics, collaborating with production management to meet performance targets and optimize machining operations.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience: Minimum 5 years in a CNC machining environment.
Technical Proficiency: Ability to correctly use all basic inspection tools (micrometers, depth gages, etc.).
Drafting Knowledge: Expert blueprint/engineering drawing interpretation.
GD&T: Working knowledge and understanding of feature dimensioning and tolerance using GD&T.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Software: Computer literacy, most notably using Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills: Solid work habits, task completion, and organization.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Measurement experience using vision systems and/or CMMs.
SPC (Statistical Process Control) experience.
CNC Lathe or Mill experience.
Logistics/Warehousing experience and knowledge.
