We are looking for a reliable Engineer I who plays a critical role in executing projects that cover three key areas: Continuous Improvement, Strategic Initiatives and Innovation. The engineering technician is an extremely capable person who loves to create and build using their hands. The right candidate must succeed in the following areas: fabrication, assembly, installation, machine operation, research and development, upgrades, improvement. The Engineer I will fabricate and build with a passion for precision, functionality and doing things the right way. This is a hands-on role that will create operational success at all Hasa locations, existing and future.
Role Scope & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering team members to contribute to the design, development, fabrication, installation and startup of equipment, systems, processes, and products.
- Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc., to create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical components, process equipment layouts, site plans, etc. Undergo training (as needed) to further develop the skills needed to be proficient in this work area.
- Assist with in-house production and set up HASA designed and other purchased equipment. Evaluate the performance, safety, and reliability of the designed/installed equipment and systems and modify designs for improvement in all three areas. Collaborate and drive equipment design and process improvements through engagement with operations and maintenance staff at various plant locations.
- Work closely with suppliers/contractors/permit agencies in developing scope of work, specifying, and purchasing parts/equipment needed for fabrication/installation/startup. Performing engineering tests to specify new materials of construction. Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues that may arise during startup.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, presentations, and Engineering drawings. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Interface effectively with management, customers (operations), and engineering team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, chemical, electrical) or equivalent.
- 0 to 6 years of professional experience in mechanical design, fabrication, or related field
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), knowledge of engineering principles, and familiarity with relevant analysis tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of PLC based control systems, designing or programming control systems is preferred.
- Experience in designing electro-mechanical systems, fabrication, or machine shops is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges. Effective time management skills are needed to meet project deadlines.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail in design, analysis, and documentation.
- Willingness to take on new challenges and learn from more experienced team members.
- Must be organized, able to travel, lead/undertake engineering functions across all our plant locations.
