Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts
Shift Timing: 08:30 AM – 05:00 PM
Variable Shifts: 06:30 AM – 03:30 PM | 08:30 AM – 05:00 PM | 11:00 AM – 07:30 PM

Compensation

• Travel Pay: $40–$44/hr ($1,500–$1,650 weekly) depending on experience
• Local Pay: $30–$32/hr ($1,110–$1,200 weekly) depending on experience

Position Overview

A respected facility is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented OR Tech / Surgical Tech for a 13-week contract assignment. The Surgical Tech will assist surgeons, nurses, and the surgical team in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment while supporting a variety of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, surgical equipment, and sterile supplies before procedures
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
• Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and available
• Monitor and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures
• Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transport as needed
• Perform accurate instrument and sponge counts according to facility protocols
• Support turnover and cleaning of operating rooms between procedures
• Float to SPD and Endoscopy departments when required

Facility & Schedule Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• 10 Operating Rooms
• Separate weekend shift coverage available
• Floating required to SPD and ENDO departments

Requirements

• Active California Surgical Tech certification/license required (if applicable by facility policy)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
• Experience in Medical-Surgical, MS/Telemetry, ICU, and some ER exposure required
• Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Traveler Guidelines

• First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of experience
• Candidates with less than 2 years of experience and no travel experience may require additional screening
• Pending California license not accepted
• Maximum RTO: 7 days
