Job Description:
The Registered Nurse will work in the Emergency Room (ER) unit, providing care for patients experiencing trauma and other emergencies. The role includes floating between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, and two Free Standing ERs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
- Assume responsibility for the care of assigned patients.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and maintain detailed records.
- Perform Foley catheter insertions and port-a-cath procedures for ED patients.
- Float within various ER facilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid RN license with at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Must pass Day 1 DYS exam and SIMs Lab for Foley catheter and port-a-cath insertion.
- Ability to read Phillips monitor strips and experience with Cerner charting system.
- Natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean shaved for fit test.
