\n To thrive in this vital role, The Preceptor RN I serves as an informal clinical leader and expert, pivotal in the onboarding and professional development of new nurses across the healthcare team. Beyond traditional precepting, this role demands a proactive approach, mentoring and guiding preceptees, fellow preceptors, interim staff, and other unit members. This position provides comprehensive orientation, advanced clinical supervision, and mentorship to elevate the team's overall performance.

- Leads comprehensive orientation for new hire nurses, covering unit protocols, technologies, and best practices. \n
- Models exemplary clinical skills, facilitating skill development and providing constructive feedback to preceptees. \n
- Acts as a primary resource and mentor for preceptees, fellow preceptors, and other healthcare team members. \n
- Ensures patient and orientee safety, fostering a supportive learning environment with appropriate oversight. \n
- Collaborates with leadership to monitor orientee progress and performance, providing timely updates. \n
- Continuously evaluates orientee competence for job readiness, guiding their development toward clinical excellence \n

- Graduate of an RN nursing program. \n
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required upon hire. \n
- 1-3 years of practicing RN experience required, with a minimum of 18 months of total RN experience. \n
- Minimum of 6 months of previous precepting experience required. \n
- Successful satisfactory evaluations from previous orientees/students. \n
