We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting occupational therapists in providing specialized rehabilitation services to our patients within the familiar and supportive environment of their homes. We would make an excellent addition to your full-time job!
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist.
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve patients' ability to perform daily living activities, fine motor skills, coordination, and cognitive functioning.
- Educate patients and their families on adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and the use of assistive equipment to promote independent living.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, reporting any changes to the supervising occupational therapist.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure a positive and supportive therapeutic environment.
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Prior experience in home health is preferred, but not required.
- Strong clinical and observational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using technology and electronic documentation systems.
