In this role, you will provide high quality, patient centered care to adults with complex cardiac conditions who require continuous monitoring and specialized nursing support. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac progressive care patients, following evidence‑based practice and Mercy standards.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses, intervening promptly as needed.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures with accuracy and clinical judgment.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post‑discharge care.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety practices.
- Support Mercy’s mission by providing compassionate care and maintaining a healing environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in cardiac, telemetry, PCU, or critical care nursing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtained within a specified timeframe).
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (if applicable to unit protocols).
