Job description
• Performs first article inspection (FAI) of newly designed or revised products.
• Inspection of incoming products to ensure proper paperwork is received and parts conform to specifications, engineering and purchase order. In-process inspection of parts being manufactured.
• Inspects sub-assemblies used in the construction of aircraft interiors and all final products prior to shipment.
• Interprets and reads engineering drawings, company and customer specifications to ensure accurate part manufacturing.

( F ) Understand and carry out oral instructions.
( F ) Read and carry out simple written instructions.
( N ) Read work orders, scrap tickets, job lot tickets, graphs, logs, schedules.
( C ) Read and carry out complicated instructions.
( N ) Observe and read instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions.
( C ) Prepare detailed records or reports such as inventory records, receiving reports, Purchasing records, operating logs, lab analyses, quantities, etc.
( N ) Inspect, examine and observe for obvious product or equipment defects.
( N ) Inspect, examine and observe for product or equipment defects not easily identified.
( C ) Count, make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions.
( N ) Compute and calculate amounts of additives, results of tests, etc.
( N ) Use measuring devices such as tapes, gauges, rules, weight scales, where reading is direct and obvious.
( N ) Use measuring devices such as micrometers, calibrated steel tapes, calipers, etc. where precision and interpretation are required.
( N ) Plan and schedule movement or flow of materials or products.
( C ) Plan own work activities.
( F ) Train other workers.
( F ) Work alone.
( F ) Work as a member of a team.

Candidate skills & requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 4-7 years.
Computer Skill: Familiar with Windows Operating System®. Basic skills with Microsoft office systems.
Other Skills: Must possess ability to use precision measuring instruments. Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other technical literature is preferred. Ability to effectively use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc. Identify problems with some solving capabilities.
