MILLWRIGHT MAINTENANCE - DT - Now Hiring

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Trouble shoots, repairs and maintains all machinery, plumbing, physical structure and electrical wiring of company plants and offices, working under direction.

SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: Foreman

WORKING PROCEDURE:

1. Reads and interprets blueprints, plans, drawings, and lay-outs.
2. Inspects and trouble shoots machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment for defects.
3. Dismantles machinery or equipment to gain access to defective parts, and repairs them using necessary hand or power tools.
4. Moves machinery or equipment using dollies, rollers, forklifts, trucks, hoists, cranes.
5. Constructs foundations for equipment and assemblies and installs equipment on foundation.
6. Aligns machines using hoists, jacks, cranes, trucks and hand tools.
7. Repairs canvas, leather, or rubber drive belts and replaces them on machines.
8. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys and other parts of machines.
9. Measures, cuts and installs pipe and tubing for gas, water, air, heat and hydraulic lines; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and other plumbing equipment.
10. Installs electrical equipment and repairs or replaces wiring and fixtures.
11. Makes and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures using carpenter tools.
12. May paint walls, floors, partitions, woodwork, and may make repairs to same.
13. Assists building and safety inspectors. Makes repairs as directed.
14. Checks and maintains all fire equipment
15. Carries out a Preventative Maintenance Program.
16. Greases and oils mechanical and electrical equipment on a scheduled basis.
17. May use welding or burning equipment in connection with maintenance.
18. With the approval of Plant Engineer, may submit requisitions for material, electrical devices, plumbing and machinery parts.
19. Retrofits existing equipment with advanced or revised designs.
20. Prepares work records and other allied paperwork as required to carry out the primary function.
21. Keeps equipment and work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition excluding work generally performed by janitors.
22. Performs all other tasks that may be required to carry out the primary function.
