Position: HR & Payroll Specialist

Location: Houston, TX

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $65000 - $75000 / Year DOE

Schedule: M-F (1 day remote)

Description:

  • Process and administer payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits enrollment.
  • Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits and HR policies.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting departments to reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports.
  • Support recruitment efforts by coordinating job postings, scheduling interviews, and assisting with onboarding procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensure all payroll tax filings are completed on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans and leave management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll and HR processes and implement best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all employees’ payroll information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the payroll and HR field.
  • Experience operating HR platforms and payroll processes and reporting.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and employee relations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience generating payroll and HR reports that support management decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point and other office tools that enable efficient data management and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
