HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Global Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing daily import and export activities and supporting the Trade Compliance Program, ensuring compliance with governmental rules and regulations in the US and abroad.

This is a hybrid position based in the Boston, MA area, with remote considered for the right candidate.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Work with freight forwarders, brokers, CBP, and customers on import and export matters
  • Review product information to assign ECCN/HTS classifications and country of origin determinations
  • Manage import and export recordkeeping in compliance with CBP and company policy
  • Screen partners, customers, and vendors for denied persons and entities, restricted end-uses, antiboycott, and diversion
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments for import and export procedure adherence
  • Evaluate new requirements and incorporate regulatory changes into day-to-day operations
  • Identify and analyze compliance issues and provide recommendations to management
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to execute compliance procedures
  • Provide compliance training to individuals and functional groups
  • Support Free Trade Agreement qualification and duty-savings programs

ESSENTIALS

  • License Customs Broker preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 4+ years of trade compliance related experience in technology/semi-conductor industry a plus
  • Knowledge of HTS & ECCN classification, CCL, and Schedule B
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills
  • Self-starter with leadership qualities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
