The city of Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. This position involves performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization, and regulatory requirements. Candidates are required to bring their license on their first day.

- Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends
- Hours: 8 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
- Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA); 0-4 years of related experience preferred
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include processing specialty and general instruments, resetting instrument sets without error, decontaminating instruments according to procedure, maintaining Central Sterile Department stock levels, preparing and assembling surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings, and communicating instrument repair needs to the supervisor. Knowledge of case cart assembly, familiarity with materials management standards, and conducting quality tests and inspections are essential.
