Night Security

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Provide safety and security for all residents, staff and guests in the Men’s Center during the night. Must be familiar with Lighthouse Ministries’ policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Secure building and doors as instructed
• Hourly make rounds to ensure the well-being of all occupants of the building
• Know how to handle any issues with any occupants of the building
• Handle within the boundaries set any incidents possibly communicating with law enforcement or medical treatment
• Handle any exterior traffic that may occur
• Complete incident reports, accident reports and/or disciplinary forms when necessary and report them immediately to the Campus Director and Shelter Chaplain
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as requested and necessary
• May be required to assist or perform drug testing or breathalyzer individuals in the facility
• Document case notes for clients in Residents Program. appointments, doctor/dental appointments ext.
• Meet with Residents when possible and update case notes with Mission Tracker
• Check and return guest possessions upon check out in the mornings

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Committed Christian, able and willing to model servant-leadership and interested in being part of a ministry that ministers to the addicted, poor, and homeless.
• Grounded in the Christian faith as a mature, active member of the body of Christ
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative, able to work effectively with diverse groups of people
• Knowledge of recovery, addiction, and mental illness
• Good communication skills Written, verbal and instructional
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while achieving program outcomes and meeting deadlines
• Adaptable, flexible, honest and perceptive
• Computer literate - proficient in word, excel, and internet
• Accurate and precise; good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Must be honest, have integrity and a strong work ethic
• Valid Florida driver’s license
